The triangles alternate in color and are grouped into 4 quadrants of 6 triangles each. The quadrants are referred to as a player's home board (or inner board) and outer board. The home and outer boards are separated from each other by a bar at the center of the board. Players begin with two checkers on their 24-point, three checkers on their 8-point, and five checkers each on their 13-point (mid point) and their 6-point. The two competition players move their checkers (15 in total) in opposing directions, from the 24-point towards the 1-point.
